Audio: Identifying Kenmore Washer Sounds

Kenmore Washer

Before you call for service, listen to these normal Kenmore washer sounds and learn what makes them. To hear any of the short sound bites, click the arrow on the player.

Play the lid locking sound. A lock test will be performed that will lock-unlock-lock once the start button is pushed. Be sure to listen for the clicking sound.

Play the sound of water moving through dispensers. Listen as the valves turn on and the water flows through.

Play the sound of water filling the washer. A flow of water is what you should expect to hear during this sequence.

Play the sound of the washer agitating the clothes in the machine. This start and stop motion is expected as the water sloshes in the machine.

Play the sound of the start of draining. A slow trickle of water is heard.

Play the sound of the end of draining. The sound of emptying water is heard here, slightly different than the sound heard during the start of draining.

Play the sound of the start of the spin. It doesn't sound like much but it's working fine if you hear this.

Play the sound of the final high-speed spin. You're almost done when you hear this sound.
